It’s been a busy January 2018 for this Asheville Facepainter so far.
Aside from taking an impromptu trip to visit my Uncle and getting snowed in a few times here in Asheville, I painted faces for a super fun rainbow-themed birthday party last weekend.
There were colorful rainbow decorations (Hello Pinterest!) everywhere and it made me want to have my own rainbow birthday party this year 🙂
The kids all loved getting rainbows, unicorns, dinosaurs, roses, skulls and more painted onto their happy faces.
Of course I came dressed to match the rainbow theme and painted my eyes like rainbow butterflies. My style inspiration is obviously Lisa Frank, someone whose art I’ve loved since my colorful 80’s childhood.
Outside of face painting, I have a few more new paintings in progress on my easel:
I’m pretty happy with how this Red, Yellow and Green Snoop Dogg portrait is turning out so far. It may or may not be finished. I haven’t decided yet.
Here’s another acrylic pet portrait I started painting recently….I made a mess:
The acrylic painting in progress above is of a Shitzu mix named Daisy. Daisy stayed at our house for a month last year, and she’ll probably be back this year at some point.
I’ll post more photos when I’ve added to the Daisy dog painting.
